Students FAQ’S

Q: What is Masters Commission?

A: The purpose of Masters Commission is to disciple young people, raising them to be strong Christians who will be ready to disciple others and change their world.

Masters Commission is a 9 month resident discipleship training program for those who have a heart to climb to the next level in their Christian walk. It is designed for those individuals who have a hunger to know God more intimately and proclaim that knowledge of him to those who do not know him. Masters Commission offers hands on ministry experience and bible training to each student. Hands on training translates practical, real life ministry opportunities which produce powerful life change in every student. Over 80% of Masters Commission graduates end up working in full time ministry.

Q: Is Masters Commission only for those desiring full-time ministry?

A: No!  It is for those who have a sincere desire to be a cut above the norm and to be whole-hearted in their pursuit of the lord. It is for those who want their lives to be punctuated with destiny in their hearts. As disciples of Christ, we believe that whatever you do career-wise , whether it be in the secular or church arena, should be done with thought, “ How can I further the Kingdom of God through this career field?”

Q: What is a typical day at Masters Commission?

A:  Mornings will be spent in organized personal prayer, bible study, scripture memorization and work on the required courses. Afternoons and evenings will be spent in ministry-training and hands-on ministry experience. Though much of the ministry is people to people, we will not be above doing servanthood tasks. We believe much is built into a persons character while serving and performing humble tasks. ( Running errands, cleaning the church, helping mailings etc.) We are not trying to build super-spiritual prima donnas. Our goal is to develop Christ-like character, integrity, discipline, and servanthood in each disciple.

Q: Is everyone who applies going to be accepted?

A: While we believe that everyone would benefit greatly from Masters Commission unfortunately God has not called everyone to participate in Masters Commission. We believe that it is crucial that you as well as JMC  believe that your participation is in the will of God. We prayerfully consider each application before the Lord. We anticipate that you will be praying to receive confirmation of Gods will yourself. This program is not open to just anybody. It is for those who are champions or would be champions for Jesus.

Q: When does the program start and end?

A: Masters Commission begins the first week of September and ends the second week of June. There are 3 breaks Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break.
